Who we are

An operator, not a fund.

Uptime Partners was founded by Mark Bishop, who has spent 10+ years in IT and operations. Mark knows what it takes to keep clients' systems up at 2 a.m., and what it takes to keep a team together while doing it.

Mark started Uptime Partners to give owners of established IT service companies a succession option that respects what they built. Rather than flipping companies or stripping them for parts, we acquire a small number of businesses, run them for the long term, and invest in the people and clients that made them successful.

What we look for

Established businesses with loyal clients.

If your company fits most of the profile below, we would like to talk — even if you are only starting to think about what comes next.

IT services focus

Managed service providers, IT support and helpdesk firms, and network & security services companies serving small and mid-sized businesses.

Established track record

Typically 10+ years in business, with a stable client base and a team that knows its clients well.

Recurring revenue

A meaningful share of revenue from managed-services agreements or other recurring contracts.

Size

Purchase prices of up to $5 million. Not sure where your business fits? Reach out anyway.

An owner ready to step back

Founders planning retirement or a new chapter who want their business in good hands — with a transition they help shape.

Utah first, then nationwide

We are starting with companies in Utah and the Mountain West, and are open to conversations with great businesses anywhere in the U.S.

Why owners choose us

Your legacy, handled with care.

We keep your employees

Your team is the business. Our plan is to retain the people who serve your clients, not replace them.

We honor client relationships

Clients chose you for a reason. We keep service levels, points of contact, and — where it makes sense — your company name.

A flexible transition

Stay on as long as it is useful — a few months or longer, full-time or advisory. We'll build the plan together.

An operator, not a fund

We have an IT and operations background and intend to run the business for the long term, not resell it in a few years.

Complete confidentiality

Your employees, clients, and competitors won't hear about our conversations from us. We are glad to sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive.

FAQ

Common questions from owners

Will our conversations stay confidential?

Yes. We treat every conversation as confidential and are happy to sign a mutual NDA before you share financial or client information. We won't contact your employees, clients, or vendors without your permission.

Will my employees keep their jobs?

Our intent is to keep your team. The people who serve your clients are a core reason we want to acquire a business in the first place. We'll discuss plans for your staff openly during the process.

How are acquisitions financed?

Deals are typically funded through a combination of sources such as SBA or conventional bank financing and equity, and sometimes include a seller-financed component. Structure depends on the specific business, and we'll walk you through it clearly in the letter of intent.

How long does the process take?

Every deal is different, but many small-business acquisitions take a few months from first conversation to closing. Timing depends on how quickly information can be shared, financing, and your own preferences.

Do I have to leave right after the sale?

No. Many owners stay on for a transition period to introduce key clients and support the team. How long, and in what capacity, is up to what works for you and the business.

I'm not ready to sell yet. Should I still reach out?

Yes. Many good conversations start years before a sale. An early, no-pressure call can help you understand your options and plan ahead.
